What was that killer feature again?

The previous time Adobe started selling a new version of its software bundle there were some amazing new features in it. Fantastic, incredible stuff. Unbelievable! So cool! Can we really do that with computers? Magic! People were amazed, so everybody bought the new version. Now. If you ask the amazed people what the killer feature was again, most of them won’t remember.

This year’s killer feature? You can now use fonts on a computer. My twitter feed exploded with joy. AMAZING! WE CAN NOW USE FONTS ON OUR COMPUTERS!

And another one. You can now edit the corner radius of a rectangle path. With a computer. Really. And people were celebrating.

Sometimes people amaze me.

Maybe, instead of paying a monthly extortion fee and being manipulated, you could spend a few months worth of Adobe rent on some of the new, design tools, like Sketch (which lets you edit the corner radius of a rectangle path, for a one time fee of 50 dollars) or Acorn (which probably does that too).

UPDATE: Cyriel pointed me in the direction of the killer feature. I’m sold.

  1. Even worse, their one software package that DID have editable rounded corners (Fireworks) is getting shafted!
