The art of printing the internet
I’ve always enjoyed working with print stylesheets. A long time ago I liked to create jokes with them that nobody would ever see, and today I create websites with them that can be ordered as books.
Louise Drulhe took print stylesheets to a completely different level. She created this amazing Atlas Qritique D’Internet, which looks fantastic in my browser. The illustrations that scroll over the text are simply brilliant. But the site is not just optimised for screens of all sizes. It’s also optimised for 12 different paper sizes. You can read more about this project on her blog. I assume her essay about Design Fluide must be brilliant as well. I used Google Translate to translate parts of it — unfortunately my French is not good enough to read it — but my eyes are definitely good enough to enjoy its design.
