When a floating element has an opacity of less than one and when hovered it has an opacity of 1, Safari (all webkit browsers) freaks out. The only solution so far seems to be to set the hover opacity to .99

This div does not float and when hovered it has an opacity of 1

This seems to be the only solution in Safari (all webkit browsers)
